Severed Vesper is a solo post-rock/experimental project from the Philippines, that had its birth on December 2008. Severed Vesper’s music is described mainly as post-rock with progressive and math rock tendencies. ‘The Demo EP’, its first ever material which was released on the same year, was recorded within a month in a bedroom studio, using little or almost no professional equipment.
Severed Vesper mainly draws influences on Mogwai, 65daysofstatic and Don Caballero, but has cited At The Drive-In and early-era Coheed and Cambira were its biggest influences. Circle Takes The Square, The Number Twelve Looks Like You, Envy, Joy Division, The Cure and Sunny Day Real Estate were also cited as influences.
